Palestine: Another Palestinian killed in alleged knife attack in West Bank

By Abdel Raoufrnaout

JERUSALEM (AA): A Palestinian was killed in an alleged stabbing attack near the West Bank city of Bethlehem on Thursday, according to the Israeli army.

A military statement said that a Palestinian stabbed an Israeli civilian on a bus at the Neve Daniel junction, adding that the Palestinian was “neutralized”.

Israeli Army Radio said the attacker was shot dead by Israeli forces, while the Israeli sustained serious injuries in the attack.

The Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed that a 30-year-old Palestinian was killed by Israeli forces near Bethlehem.

Earlier on Thursday, Israeli soldiers shot a young Palestinian man and injured dozens with tear gas attacks near the illegal Annexation Wall west of Tulkarem, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

Media sources said the soldiers fired many live rounds and gas bombs at Palestinians on their lands near the illegal Annexation Wall, leading to protests.

They added that the soldiers shot a young man with a live round, causing a moderate injury, before the Palestinian medics rushed him to a hospital.

The medics also provided treatment to many Palestinians who suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation.

Early Wednesday, Israeli forces shot dead two Palestinians and injured 15 others in a military raid in the West Bank city of Jenin.

The violence comes amid rising tensions in the Palestinian territories after 11 Israelis were killed in a spate of attacks in Israel this week.

On March 22, four Israelis were killed in a knife attack blamed on a Daesh/ISIS sympathizer in the southern city of Beersheba.

Two policemen were also killed in a shooting attack claimed by the Daesh/ISIS terror group in the central city of Hadera on March 27. Five people were also killed in a shooting attack by a Palestinian in the city of Bnei Brak on Tuesday.
