RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) – Five Palestinians were killed late Saturday by Israeli forces in areas across the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian Health Ministry said four were killed and four were injured by the Israeli army which raided the Jenin refugee camp.

Palestine TV reported that the Israeli army raided Jenin from several directions and cordoned off the refugee camp and the government hospital amid heavy gunfire.

On Saturday morning, Israeli soldiers invaded Qabatia town, south of the northern West Bank city of Jenin, leading to protests, before killing a Palestinian doctor and wounding his brother and another young man.

Media sources said undercover Israeli soldiers infiltrated the town and surrounded a home near the local school for girls before several military jeeps invaded the town, before the soldiers stormed and ransacked homes, leading to protests.

Fawwaz Hammad, the director of the Ar-Razi Hospital in Jenin, said the soldiers killed Dr. Shamekh Kamal Abu Ar-Rob, 25, after shooting him in the abdomen and shot his brother, Mohammad, in the leg and another young man in the thigh.

The slain doctor and his brother, the sons of the acting governor of Jenin, Kamal Abu Ar-Ron, were leaving their home when the soldiers shot them.

Eyewitnesses reported that an Israeli military drone targeted a house in the Damaj neighborhood within the Jenin refugee camp, using at least one missile. This led to the murder of Asaad Ali Damaj, a 33-year-old man, and left 11 others injured, including three women. Furthermore, Israeli drones targeted the Public Service Center in the camp.

The four other victims were identified as Mahmoud Khalid Abu al-Heja, 17, Ammar Muhammad Abu al-Wafa, 21, Ahmad Abu al-Heja, 20, Muhammad Mahmoud Freihat, 27.

The Islamic Jihad group’s armed wing said its fighters confronted the Israeli army near the refugee camp.

Meanwhile, the Health Ministry added that a Palestinian teen was also killed by Israeli forces in the Jabal At-Tawil area in Al-Bireh in central West Bank.

He was identified as Mohammad Saleh, 16. The circumstances of his death are unclear.

The Palestinian official news agency, WAFA, cited the Red Crescent Society that said Israeli forces prevented emergency response teams from reaching Mohammad.

In Hebron, in the southern part of the West Bank, the soldiers shot and seriously injured a child, 14, after shooting him in the abdomen in the Khasra area, south of Doura, south of Hebron city.

Tensions have been high across the West Bank since fighting broke out Oct. 7 between Palestinian groups and Israel in Gaza.

A total of 237 Palestinians have since been killed by the Israeli forces in the West Bank, in addition to more than 2,950 injured, and 3,100 Palestinians have been detained by Israelis since 8 October, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
