Over 1,100 Palestinians & Israelis killed in attacks in Gaza & Israel

GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) The Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip in response to a Hamas offensive killed at least 343 Palestinians, including 20 children, the territory’s Health Ministry said on Sunday.
In a written statement, the ministry said 2,300 Palestinians, including 121 children, were also wounded.
Meanwhile, a total of 700 Israelis have been killed and 1,864 have been injured so far in the ongoing military escalation with Palestinian groups in Gaza, including some 345 people being in critical condition, the Israeli Health Ministry said in a statement.
In a written statement, the Israeli army announced that Israelis living in Jewish settlements on the Gaza Strip border are being evacuated and the army has regained control of most areas.
“We managed to regain control of most of the areas under attack. “Clashes are underway in the Be’eri settlement,” the army said.
Hamas launched Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on Saturday and said the surprise attack was in response to the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and increased Israeli settler violence. It said it fired rockets and captured many Israelis.
In turn, the Israeli army initiated Operation Swords of Iron against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: “We are at war.” He urged civilians in Gaza to leave as the Israeli military is going to turn “all Hamas hiding places into rubble.”
Energy Minister Israel Katz signs an order instructing the Israel Electric Corporation to cut the supply of electricity to Gaza.
“It’s not going to be how it was,” Katz says in a statement.
Gaza largely relies on Israel and fuel imports for its power.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday requested an emergency ministerial-level meeting of the Arab League over the latest Israeli escalation.
In a statement, the ministry said it had directed “its permanent delegation to the Arab League to request an emergency meeting of the League Council at the ministerial level.”
This comes in light of “the escalation of the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people,” it said.
UK political leades came in unanimous support of Israel:
UK Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak said: “I am shocked by this morning’s attacks by Hamas terrorists against Israeli citizens. Israel has an absolute right to defend itself.”
Labour leader, Keir Starmer said: “I utterly condemn the ongoing attacks on Israel and her citizens. There is no justification for this act of terror which is being perpetrated by those who seek to undermine any chance for future peace in the region. Israel has a right to defend herself.”
Liberal Democrats Leader, Ed Davey said: “Horrifying scenes in Israel and Palestine this morning. Liberal Democrats fully condemn Hamas. This terrorism must cease. Israel has a right to defend itself.”
