Israel’s war on Gaza: Relentless attacks continue day after massacre
Israel’s raid on the Nuseirat refugee camp has caused outrage, with the EU calling it “a massacre”. The death toll has risen to 274 and more than 698 others injured, according to Gaza’s health ministry.
Doctors describe the scenes inside Al-Aqsa Hospital in central Gaza as a “complete bloodbath”, with one medic saying the inside of the hospital “looks like a slaughterhouse”. Doctors Without Borders (MSF) says Al-Aqsa and Nasser hospitals are “overwhelmed”.
Among the 274 dead from Israel’s army incursion are at least 64 children, 57 women, and 37 elderly people, Gaza’s health ministry says. Another 798 Palestinians were wounded in the Israeli raid. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
The Palestinian death toll is the worst over a 24-hour period of the Gaza war for months.
“My child was crying, afraid of the sound of the plane firing at us,” said Hadeel Radwan, 32, recounting how they fled the intense attack as she carried her seven-month-old daughter.
“We all felt that we wouldn’t survive. This brutal occupation will not let us live.”
The UN agency for Palestinian refugees cites a UNICEF report that nine out of 10 children in the Gaza Strip are experiencing severe food shortages, with charity Oxfam saying many spend entire days without eating.
Medics describe scenes of chaos and carnage after the deadly Israeli army raid. Overwhelmed hospitals were already struggling to treat the wounded from days of heavy Israeli strikes in the area.
“We had the gamut of war wounds, trauma wounds, from amputations to eviscerations to trauma, to TBIs [traumatic brain injuries], fractures and, obviously, big burns,” said Karin Huster from Medicins Sans Frontiere, working in al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir el-Balah.
“Kids completely gray or white from the shock, burnt, screaming for their parents. Many of them are not screaming because they are in shock.”

The UN Security Council is responsible for deciding whether any action will be taken, but some say it could, at the very least, increase diplomatic pressure on Israel. wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj wmj
Settlers set a house ablaze in the town of Burqa, north of Nablus in the occupied West Bank, according to local social media platforms.
Several settlers from the Israeli settlement of Homesh, near Nablus, also threw burning tyres at the homes of citizens in multiple areas north of the village, setting nearby agricultural land on fire, Palestinian news agency Wafa reported.
Settler violence against Palestinians and their properties has increased since October 7. More than 500 people in the West Bank have been killed in attacks by Israeli soldiers and settlers.
