Gaza: 92 Palestinians killed, 156 injured by Israeli forces in last 24 hours
Gaza City (Wafa, Al Jazeera): In the past 24 hours, 92 Palestinians were killed and 156 others wounded by Israeli indiscriminate bombings in Gaza according to Gaza Ministry of Health. At least 30,320 Palestinians have been killed, including 8,860 women, 13,230 children, and 71,533 wounded, including 8,663 children in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7.
At least 11 Palestinians were killed and 50 wounded after Israeli air attack on a tent housing displaced people next to the entrance of a hospital in Rafah City, the Health Ministry says. Abdel Fattah Abu Marhi, the head of the paramedic unit at the hospital, was killed. The ministry added that children were among the injured.
At least 17 Palestinians have been killed and dozens wounded in Israeli air strikes targeting three houses in Deir el-Balah and Jabalia.
A United Nations team has found many injured in Thursday’s Israeli attack on Palestinians awaiting food aid have gunshot wounds. The director of al-Awda Hospital says 80 percent of the wounded brought to the hospital had been shot by Israeli forces. The Ministry of Health in Gaza announces that the death toll from the food aid “massacre” has risen to 118.
Israeli forces shelled a group of people trying to pick herbs in Beit Hanoon in northern Gaza, where extreme food shortages have driven many residents to the brink of starvation, according to the Palestinian Wafa news agency.
The attack killed three civilians and injured seven, the news agency said.
Former US Ambassador to Algeria and Syria wrote in a social media post that – aside from a 1967 Israeli air raid on the USS Liberty, which killed 34 American crew – the US being forced to airdrop aid to Gaza on Saturday were the worst-ever Israeli humiliation of the US.
“Forcing [the] USA to do airdrops of aid to Gaza as if [the] USA is no better than Egypt [and] Jordan is Israel’s worst humiliation of [the] USA [I’ve] ever seen,” Ford, who is now a fellow at the Middle East Institute, wrote.
“I should add that [the] USA will do humanitarian aid airdrops to Gazans if the Israeli Air Force graciously agrees not to shoot down the American planes over Gaza,” Ford added.
Also in northern Gaza City, Wafa reported that the latest round of Israeli air strikes killed at least 10 civilians and wounded five.
For the second time in less than 48 hours, Israeli occupation forces opened machine gunfire this evening targeting hundreds of civilians waiting for desperately needed humanitarian aid southwest of Gaza City, resulting in multiple civilian casualties.
Eyewitnesses reported that the occupation forces opened fire on a crowd of civilians waiting for potential aid trucks near the Al-Nablusi roundabout at the Al-Rashid Street southwest of Gaza City, resulting in at least one fatality and the injury of 26 others.
The developments come as Israeli occupation authorities continue to block the arrival of badly needed humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, especially the northern region, where a real famine has been taking a heavy toll on the local population, with no food, no water, no electricity, and nothing of the basics of life.
Two Palestinians were killed this evening in an Israeli airstrike targeting the Al Zaytoun neighborhood south of Gaza City, according to local sources.
The sources reported that the Israeli occupation forces targeted Dawla Square in the heart of the neighborhood, resulting in the tragic killing of the two Palestinians.
Dozens of civilians, the majority of whom were children and women, were killed and others wounded in the ongoing Israeli artillery shieling of different areas in the Gaza strip.
Medical sources reported that Israeli warplanes carried out intense airstrikes that targeted multiple of homes in the neighborhoods of Al-Zaytoun, Tal Al-Hawa, Al-Sabra, and Al-Daraj in Gaza City, resulting in the killing of at least 10 persons and causing various injuries.
Furthermore, five civilians were wounded when Israeli fighter jets targeted with six missiles civilians’ homes in Tal al-Hawa in the south of the city.
In Beit Hanoun, northern Gaza, three Palestinians were killed and seven others were injured in an Israeli artillery shelling targeting a group of civilians while they were trying to pick some herbs, due to the continued bombing and the occupation’s prevention of aid from entering.
Simultaneously, Israeli air force further bombed the central and eastern areas of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, resulting in the killing of two people and wounding 15 others.
In Rafah, southern Gaza, an Israeli drone bombed a civilian vehicle in the Al-Shaboura neighborhood, killing two citizens and causing injuries to dozens of others.
As we are writing this story, we received news that 13-year-old child, Mohammad Khaled Zabad, was shot by Israeli forces near the Jalazone camp north of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian Wafa news agency has reported several setter attacks taking place across the Occupied West Bank.
Illegal Israeli settlers seized a park in the village of Qaryout, south of Nablus, taking control of a building under construction in the middle of the park and raising an Israeli flag above it. They also took control of a water spring on the outskirts of Qaryout.
Palestinian farmers have been attacked in the town of Qarawat Bani Hassan, west of Salfit, in the central West Bank. Illegal Israeli settlers attempted to stab Muhammad Yaqoub Rayan, a resident, with a sharp object and fired live ammunition at other farmers.
Illegal Israeli settlers stormed the homes of Palestinian residents in Arab al-Malihat, northwest of Jericho, beating and wounding several of them.
At least 419 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces and illegal Israeli settlers in West Bank since 7 October.
According to Israeli government 1,139 Israelis were killed by Hamas on 7 October in southern Israel and 134 Israelis and foreign nationals are still detained by Hamas in Gaza.
