Gaza: 300 Palestinians killed by Israeli air raids across Gaza in last 24 hours

ANKARA (AA): More than 300 Palestinians were killed and hundreds injured in Israeli attacks across Gaza Strip in the last 24 hours. The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor has criticized an International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor for “failure” to act on the situation in occupied Palestinian territories, including the Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, an Israeli missile attack on the Jabalia refugee camp in the Gaza Strip has killed over 100 Palestinians on Saturday, with many still missing under the rubble of a collapsed residential building, Palestinian media reported.

“More than 100 Palestinians were killed Saturday in a new massacre by Israeli occupation forces in the Jabalia refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip,” the official Palestinian news agency Wafa reported.

“A missile strike targeted a residential building belonging to the Obaid family in Jabalia camp,” the news agency said, adding that “dozens were injured, and many others are still missing under the rubble.”

The Israeli army resumed bombing the Gaza Strip early Friday after declaring an end to a week-long humanitarian pause with the Palestinian resistance group, Hamas.

Earlier on Saturday, the Gaza Health Ministry said at least 193 Palestinians had been killed and 652 injured since Israel’s army resumed airstrikes after announcing the end of humanitarian pause on Friday morning.

The humanitarian pause began on Nov. 24 as part of an agreement between Israel and Hamas to temporarily halt fighting to allow hostage swaps and aid delivery.

Witnesses told Anadolu that medics transferred the bodies and those who were injured to the Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis.

The bombing caused widespread destruction to the house and surrounding properties.

Several Palestinians were killed and others injured Saturday as an Israeli airstrike targeted a home in the Al-Bureij camp in the central Gaza Strip.

According to Palestinian medics, teams are at the site working to rescue the injured from under the rubble of the dwelling that was targeted.

The death toll from Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip has soared to 15,207 since the outbreak of the conflict on Oct. 7, Gaza Ministry of Health said Saturday.

The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor has criticized an International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor for “failure” to act on the situation in occupied Palestinian territories, including the Gaza Strip.

In a statement Friday, the Geneva-based independent human rights organization accused Karim Khan of “clear double standards” for not taking “a practical action,” on developments in occupied Palestinian territories and Gaza.

“In light of the extraordinarily high level of documentation — unparalleled in history — of the Israeli wars on Gaza, which fit the definition of a genocide in the making under international law, Khan’s selective vision is a shameful affront to justice,” it said.

Noting that the prosecutor had visited Israel to meet with victims of a cross-border attack by Gaza-based Palestinian group, Hamas, on Oct. 7, the group said he did not meet with “victims of Israel’s occupation and settlers terrorism or their families.”
