Gaza City, (Wafa, AA, Al Jazeera, OCHA): Between the afternoons of 6 and 8 May, according to the Ministry of Health (MoH) in Gaza, 109 Palestinians were killed and 296 others injured by Israeli indiscriminate bombing of Gaza Strip. This has increased the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli Defence Forces since 7 October 2023 to 34,844, including 14,944 children and 9,849 women and 78,404 others injured in Gaza Strip, according to MoH.

Several civilians were killed and many others were injured in Israeli airstrikes and artillery attacks on different parts of the Gaza Strip, including the city of Rafah.

WAFA correspondent reported that seven civilians were killed and others were injured in an Israeli shelling that targeted a group of civilians in the vicinity of the Al-Aybaki Mosque in the al-Daraj neighborhood east of Gaza City.

Several civilians were also killed and injured in Israeli air raids that targeted a house belonging to the Radi family in the new camp west of the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.

In Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, Israeli artillery bombarded the eastern areas of the city, killing a young man.

Israeli warplanes also shelled and destroyed several sites in the vicinity of the Eastern Cemetery to the east of Rafah and a site near the Rafah Crossing. Al-salam neighborhood in Rafah was also targeted by the occupation fighter jets.

The Israeli bombardment also targeted Gaza’s city Hall building.

On 7 May, at about 0:20, at least five Palestinians, including a woman and a child, were reportedly killed and others injured when a house was hit in Al Barahma neighbourhood in Tal As Sultan area in western Rafah.

On the same day, at about 2:15, four Palestinians, including one woman, were reportedly killed and others injured when a house was hit in Al Junainah neighbourhood in eastern Rafah.

At about 4:00, four Palestinians were reportedly killed and others injured when two apartments were hit in Tal As Sultan area in western Rafah.

Palestinians pour into central Gaza by the thousands, mainly to Deir el-Balah city, after Israel’s seizure of the vital Rafah crossing on the border with Egypt.

All key medical facilities in Rafah could soon become inaccessible or inoperable, Health Cluster partners warn, as An Najjar Hospital – one of three remaining in Rafah -was already abruptly vacated on 7 May.

Motasem Salah, director of the Gaza Emergency Operations Centre, says medics recovered more than 50 bodies from the mass grave at the Al-Shifa Hospital medical complex since Tuesday.

“There were also bodies in the reception and emergency department. Part of the department was completely demolished, and the rubble and debris were moved over the patients,” Salah said in a video message.

“The bodies we found were on beds at the reception and emergency department, meaning Israel destroyed the department over the heads of sick and injured people – and they were buried alive.”

Palestinian medical teams have discovered a third mass grave at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, the government media office said on Wednesday.

“Some 49 dead bodies have so far been exhumed from the mass grave and efforts are still underway to search for more,” it added in a statement.

At least seven mass graves have been found in the Gaza Strip as Israel continued its brutal offensive on the enclave that has left more than 34,800 people dead and injured over 78,400 others since Oct. 7, 2023.

Three mass graves were found at Al-Shifa Hospital, three at Nasser Hospital in the southern city of Khan Younis, and one inside Kamel Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, the media office said.

“At least 520 bodies have been exhumed from the seven mass graves,” it added.

According to the Israeli government, 1,139 Israelis were killed by Hamas on October 7 in southern Israel, and 134 Israelis and foreign nationals are still detained by Hamas in Gaza.
