ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (AA): At least three people were killed and 13 others were injured in a blast near a hotel in Afghanistan’s capital Kabul on Wednesday.

Kabul police spokesman Khalid Zadran confirmed the incident, stating that the explosion took place near a hotel in Dahmaznik area , the third precinct of Kabul and that three people were killed and 13 others were injured. A security team has arrived on the scene, and an investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the explosion, he added in a statement.

Video footages on social media show locals transporting victims of the blast to hospitals.

Earlier this month, at least six people were killed, including two Russian Embassy staffers, in a bombing near the mission’s office in the city.

Later, the terrorist group ISIS/Daesh claimed responsibility for the attack.

And four people, including two children, were injured yesterday in an explosion in Kandahar province, southern Afghanistan.

The terror group has recently intensified attacks in different parts of the country, particularly targeting pro-Taliban clerics.
