Somalia: 5 people killed by suicide bombing in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU, Somalia (Agencies): 5 people were killed and 11 others wounded after a suicide bomber blew himself up near an army training facility in the Somali capital Mogadishu, said a security official.
Deaths and injuries were announced by SONNA news agency.
“5 dead, 11 others hurt in tonight’s terrorist suicide attack at the outside of a military training base in #Mogadishu. SNA chief Odowa Yusuf Ragge told @SONNALIVE troops thwarted the bomber before reaching his target, adding investigations begin to find the mysterious. #Somalia,” tweeted SONNALIVE.
“What I can confirm to you is that the blast was caused by a suicide bomber who blew himself up near General Dhigobadan training camp in southern Mogadishu. We don’t know how many people have been killed or wounded,” said a Somali official earlier.
Also, the state-run Somali National News Agency said: “Innocent civilian casualties were reported as a suicide bomber blew himself up outside of the Candy Army Base in Mogadishu, a cowardly attack by al-Shabab Khawarij after experiencing military setbacks at battlefields.”
The military facility has been targeted by Al-Qaeda-linked Al-Shabaab several times.
