HEBRON, Palestine (AA): An 11-year-old Palestinian child, who was shot and injured by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, succumbed to his wounds, according to local residents and the Palestinian Health Ministry.
The child, Mohammed al-Allami, was injured in the chest when Israeli forces opened fire on a vehicle his father was driving in Abu Touq area, at the entrance of the town of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron (Al-Khalil), seriously wounding the child, before the medics rushed him to the al-Ahli hospital, in Hebron, where he succumbed to his wounds, said a Palestinian Health Ministry statement.
Al- Allami was a six-grade student at Beit Ummar Basic School.
In related news, Israeli soldiers dug the grave of a deceased Palestinian newborn baby girl, just a few hours after her family buried her at the graveyard in Beit Ummar.
The soldiers took the corpse out of the grave and placed it on the ground, before leaving the area.
Sabarna said that the Town Council contacted the family to informed them of what the soldiers did and to conduct the burial ceremony again.
The Israeli army launch, on daily basis, attacks against Palestinians and their property in the occupied West Bank, while the Palestinian Authority keeps demanding the international community to protect the Palestinian people, who languish for decades under occupation.
Meanwhile in East Jerusalem, 91 Israeli settlers on Wednesday forced their way into the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex in occupied East Jerusalem, according to a Palestinian agency.
Eyewitnesses told Anadolu Agency that some of the settlers performed religious rituals upon their arrival at the eastern side of the mosque. Israeli police did not prevent the ritual as it usually hinders Jews from praying in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Usually, Israeli settlers storm the Al-Aqsa complex every day in the morning and afternoon through its Al-Mughrabi Gate, southwest of the mosque, reports Abdelraouf Arnaout
The Islamic Endowment Department in Jerusalem has repeatedly warned of the danger of allowing settlers to perform religious rituals at the site.
Al-Aqsa Mosque is the world’s third-holiest site for Muslims. Jews call the area the Temple Mount, claiming it was the site of two Jewish temples in ancient times.
Israel occupied East Jerusalem, where Al-Aqsa is located, during the 1967 Arab-Israeli War. It annexed the entire city in 1980, a move never recognized by the international community.
