RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA): An Israeli army drone on Tuesday killed at least four Palestinians in Sibat neighbourhood of the city of Jenin, north of the occupied West Bank. Meanwhile, 20 Palestinians were killed in Israeli air strikes on residential area in Rafah, south Gaza.
The Palestinian Health Ministry in a statement said the bodies arrived at the government-run Khalil Salman Hospital in Jenin city.
According to Wafa news agency, Palestinians who were killled in Jenin City were identified as: Rafiq al-Dabbous, Mahmoud Abu Srour, Bakr Siddiq Zakarneh, and Thaer Abu al-Tin.
Witnesses told Anadolu that the drone also left many others injured, and the Israeli army prevented medical teams from reaching the area to evacuate the victims.
Earlier in the day, Israeli forces stormed the city from several directions, triggering clashes with Palestinians.
Israeli bulldozers also destroyed infrastructure and property in the Jenin refugee camp, according to witnesses.
Anadolu also learned that Israeli forces raided several areas across the West Bank, including the town of Silwad in Ramallah, and detained at least 15 Palestinians.
At least 280 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces and settlers in the West Bank since Oct. 7, in addition to more than 3,100 others injured, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
Meanwhile in Gaza, accordint to Wafa news agency the victims in the airstrike in Rafah included the Harb family home included six children.
Israeli fighter jets, artillery and gunboats also continued shelling across the besieged Palestinian enclave, causing dozens of casualties, most of them children and women.
The Israeli army on Monday raided several schools where displaced Palestinians have been taking shelter and kicked them out in the cold of the northern Gaza Strip.
Israeli army forces stormed into a number of schools in the Al-Faluja area in Jabalia, kicked the women and children out, and arrested the men, eyewitnesses told Anadolu.
A state of panic and fear prevailed among the women and children who left the schools under the Israeli bullets and shelling, the eyewitnesses added.
They also said they were forced to leave the shelters completely empty-handed, without even water, food, or even blankets to protect them from the December cold.
The Israeli army has yet to comment on the storming of the schools, which – like other civilian buildings – are supposed to be off-limits to attacks, under the rules of war.
Thousands of Palestinians have sought safe haven in schools – especially schools run by the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, or UNRWA – to take shelter after they lost their homes due to Israel’s heavy bombardment across Gaza.
Yet several schools have reportedly come under Israeli shelling, causing hundreds of casualties among Palestinians.
Israel has bombarded the Gaza Strip from the air and land, imposed a siege and mounted a ground offensive in retaliation for a cross-border attack by Hamas on Oct. 7.
At least 18,205 Palestinians have been killed, including 7,729 children, 5,153 women and 49,645 others injured in the Israeli onslaught since then, according to Gaza’s health authorities.
The Israeli death toll in the Hamas attack stood at 1,200, according to Isreali official figures.
