Palestine and Türkiye ink protocol on economic cooperation

The protocol allows the addition of a list of duty-free Palestinian agricultural products to Türkiye, setting up a mechanism that ensures the uninterrupted flow of trade in goods between both countries in this phase, agreement on convening the Joint Committee periodically as part of the Palestinian-Turkish Free Trade Agreement and convening the Palestinian-Turkish Economic Cooperation Council under the chairmanship of both Ministers.
It also includes supporting not only the participation of Palestinian companies in international fairs in which Türkiye participates but also arranging specialized fairs for Palestinian companies in Türkiye, and speeding up the registration of the trademark of Palestinian dates with the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office as a means to protect Palestinian national products.
The Turkish Minister Bolat affirmed his country’s complete willingness to reinforce trade relations and cooperation with Palestine and offer all the contributions necessary to develop the Palestinian economy.
Palestinian Minister al-Amour extended his gratitude to the Turkish president, government and people for supporting and coordinating with Palestine to reinforce cooperation, as well as for their efforts aimed at raising the volume of trade despite all Israeli complications, particularly raising the dates quota from 3 to 5 tons and bringing the duty exemption into force.
He hailed the joint arrangements as a strategic step towards economic openness between the two countries, the facilitation of trade, increasing the share of Palestinian national exports in the Turkish market and ensuring the flow of the supply chain of the export of goods from and to the Palestinian market.
