Palestine: 8 Palestinians killed in Gaza, 2 in W Bank by Israeli forces

Palestine (Imemc): On Thursday, Israeli missiles killed eight Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, while Israeli soldiers killed two in the West Bank, as Israel continued its escalation against the Palestinian people, their homes, and their lands.

Three Palestinians were killed at dawn when the army fired a missile at an apartment in residential area of Hamad City in Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, and many others were injured.

One Palestinian was killed, and at least four were injured when the army fired a missile at a home in Bani Sheila town, east of Khan Younis.

Two Palestinians were killed, and several others were injured by Israeli missiles targeting the Sheja’eyya neighborhood east of Gaza City.

One Palestinian was killed when an Israeli military drone fired a missile targeting several residents in Izbat Abed-Rabbo in Beit Lahia, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.

One Palestinian was killed, and several others were injured when an Israeli war jet fired a missile at a building near the Power Plant north of the Nusseirat refugee camp in central Gaza. The bombing caused a blackout in large areas in Gaza City and the central Gaza Strip.

Israel has now killed 30 in the Gaza Strip since Tuesday, May 9, 30 Palestinians, including three women and six children, and injured more than 95 injuries, including seventeen women and thirty-two children; some of the wounded are in critical condition.

n the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed the death of Ghazi Yousef Shehab, 66, due to serious wounds he suffered when the soldiers shot him in the abdomen during an invasion of the Nur Shams refugee camp in Tulkarem, in the northwestern West bank.

The Health Ministry added that a young man, Aws Jamal Hamamda Kamil, 30, whom the soldiers shot in the chest and the abdomen in Qabatia, south of the northern West Bank city of Jenin, Wednesday, has succumbed to his wounds.

Israel’s national emergency medical service, Magen David Adom, announced that one person was killed and five others were injured when a rocket fired from Gaza hit a residential building in the city of Rehovot in central Israel.

It was Israel’s first casualty since it began an operation against Islamic Jihad three days ago.

The Israeli army said the airstrikes are part of Operation Shield and Arrow, an offensive launched after rockets were fired from Gaza following the death of a Palestinian inmate who was on a hunger strike in an Israeli prison.

Israeli soldiers and paramilitary colonizers have killed 144 Palestinians, including 26 children and 6 women (one was pregnant), in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip since the beginning of this year. At least 19 Israelis have also been killed in separate attacks during the same period.

With the latest casualties, the death toll from Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip has risen to 28, according to the ministry.

Another 86 Palestinians have been injured in the air attacks.

In a statement, the army said Ahmed Abu-Deka, who was deputy commander of the Islamic Jihad’s rocket force, was targeted by Israeli warplanes.

“He was directly responsible for the barrages of rockets fired toward Israeli civilians in the last few days,” it added.

Islamic Jihad confirmed his killing in a statement, saying that Abu-Deka, who was among the leaders of the al-Quds Brigades, the group’s armed wing, was martyred in a “cowardly” assassination carried out by Israel in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian Health Ministry in a separate statement announced that three Palestinians had been killed and six injured in fresh Israeli airstrikes.

Israel has killed five senior figures of the Islamic Jihad group, including Abu-Deka, in its attacks on Gaza in the past three days.
