GAZA
At least 42 more Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, bringing the death toll from Israel’s genocidal war since October 2023 to 50,399, the Health Ministry said on Tuesday.
A ministry statement said that 183 more injured people were also transferred to hospitals in the past 24 hours, taking the number of injuries to 114,583 in the Israeli onslaught.
“Many victims are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads as rescuers are unable to reach them,” it added.
The Israeli army launched a surprise aerial campaign on the Gaza Strip on March 18, killing 1,042 people and injuring over 2,500 others despite a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that took hold in January.
Meanwhile, UNICEF has released a statement, saying the resumption of Israel’s “intense bombardments” and ground operations in the Gaza Strip has killed at least 322 children and injured 609 since the ceasefire collapsed.
On average, about 100 children were killed or maimed over the past 10 days, it said.
“Most of these children were displaced, sheltering in makeshift tents or damaged homes,” the statement says.
Four civilians were killed and others were injured on Tuesday in Israeli airstrikes in the central Gaza Strip.
Local sources reported that Israeli forces targeted a house near the Deir al-Balah water treatment station, killing two civilians and injuring others.
Israeli forces struck a group of citizens north of the Nuseirat refugee camp, resulting in the killing of one civilian and the wounding of several others.
Additionally, one civilian was killed in an Israeli artillery strike east of the Maghazi refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.
One more Palestinian journalist, along with his entire family, was killed in an Israeli airstrike in the southern Gaza Strip.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Al-Aqsa local radio announced that journalist Mohammed Al-Bardaweel and his family were killed in the airstrike on their apartment in Khan Younis.
“The criminal Israeli occupation army, by targeting Palestinian journalists, is desperately trying to silence the Palestinian narrative and obscure the truth,” the statement said.
The Gaza-based Government Media Office condemned Israel’s killing of the journalist and his family, calling on the international community, including global press organizations, to denounce Israel’s systematic targeting of Palestinian journalists and pursue legal action through international courts.
Al-Bardaweel’s death brought the number of Palestinian journalists killed in Israel’s war on the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, 2023, to 209, the media office also said.
The Israeli army issued evacuation orders on Tuesday for Palestinians in a city in the northern Gaza Strip in a move widely seen as a form of collective punishment, following the firing of a rocket from the enclave.
Israeli army spokesman Avichay Adraee ordered the immediate evacuation of Beit Hanoun before the army carries out strikes in the area.
Adraee said earlier that the army’s air defense intercepted a rocket launched from northern Gaza toward Sderot.
Israeli Army Radio said air raid sirens were activated in the Sderot and settlements adjacent to Gaza following the rocket launch.
WEST BANK
A Palestinian has been killed in an Israeli attack on the town of al-Qarara, north of Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip, according to Al Jazeera Arabic.
They also said Israeli forces have opened fire on eastern areas of Gaza City.
Meanwhile, Defence Minister Israel Katz says Israel will not allow the Palestinian Authority to control the occupied West Bank.
He made the remarks during a tour of the territory with far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, who said Israel was “here to stay”.
“Just as we are crushing Palestinian terror in the terror camps of Jenin, Tulkarem, and Nur Shams, we will prevent any attempt by the PA to take control of Judea and Samaria and harm Jewish settlements,” Katz said in a video statement alongside Smotrich, using a biblical term to refer to the West Bank.
Israeli occupation forces demolished on Tuesday a horse stable and several structures in the town of Abu Dis, east of Jerusalem, citing the lack of Israeli-issued building permits.
According to the Jerusalem Governorate, the demolitions affected various facilities that served as sources of livelihood for dozens of families. The operation took place during an incursion into the Abu Hindi area east of Abu Dis.
Among the demolished structures was a horse stable, which spanned five dunums and housed over thirty horses, along with several sheds and a fence. The stable provided for three families.
Additionally, a demolition notice was issued against a vehicle wash facility in Abu Hindi, giving the owner 48 hours to demolish it himself or face forced demolition by Israeli forces along with hefty fines.
LEBANON
Four people, including a woman, were killed and seven others injured in an Israeli airstrike on Beirut’s southern suburb Tuesday morning, in the latest Israeli violation of a ceasefire agreement, the Lebanese Health Ministry said.
The Health Ministry said that the death toll rose to four after an injured person succumbed to his wounds from the Israeli attack.
Earlier, the Lebanese state news agency NNA reported that an Israeli airstrike targeted a building in the southern suburb of Beirut with two rockets.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun strongly condemned the Israeli airstrike, calling on Lebanon’s “friends” worldwide to support the country’s right to full territorial sovereignty.
He also said that the Israeli airstrike represents “a dangerous warning of (the Israeli) intentions against Lebanon.”
Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam also condemned the Israeli airstrike on southern Beirut as a “clear breach” of the ceasefire and the UN resolution 1701.
An Israeli military statement claimed that it targeted a Hezbollah member posing an “immediate threat to Israeli civilians.”
YEMEN
The Yemeni Houthi [Ansar Allah] group said Tuesday that US warplanes conducted 22 raids recently in areas in the northern provinces of Sana’a and Saada.
Houthi-run Al-Masirah TV said US warplanes targeted the Jarban area in the Sanhan district in southeastern Sana’a at dawn with five airstrikes, and the Bani Matar district in western Sana’a, with two strikes.
The broadcaster added that the Saada province, a key stronghold of the Houthi group, came under 15 US raids during the early hours Tuesday.
The US has intensified airstrikes on Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen in recent days at an unprecedented rate, resulting in casualties and property damage, according to the group.
