London, (The Muslim News): Israeli attacks on Gaza Strip have killed at least 41 Palestinians in the last 24 hours and injured 119 others according to Ministry of Health in the enclave. this has led to number of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces since October 2023 to 52,567 and injured 118,610.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister has released a new Hebrew-language video message on X, addressing the cabinet-approved plan to expand the Gaza offensive.
According to translated excerpts reported by Reuters, Netanyahu said Gaza’s Palestinian population “will be moved, for its own protection”.
Israel’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has reiterated his staunch opposition to any aid entering Gaza after Israel’s cabinet approved a plan for the military to take over humanitarian relief deliveries.
“The only aid that should enter Gaza is aid for voluntary migration,” said Ben-Gvir in comments carried by Arutz Sheva media.
“As long as there are hostages no food, no electricity, and no other aid should be allowed – neither by the [Israeli military] nor by civil society.”
Meanwhile, Wafa News Agency is reporting that a four-month-old infant, Yousef al-Najjar, has died as a result of malnutrition.
Local media reports say the infant weighed just 1.5kg (3.3 pounds) when he died, less than one-fourth of the average weight for his age.
Meanwhile, Israeli settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied Jerusalem on Monday, under the protection of Israeli occupation police.
The Jerusalem Governorate reported in a brief statement that 500 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque in groups, conducted provocative tours of its courtyards, and performed Talmudic rituals under the protection of occupation forces.
A medical source told Anadolu Agency that four people were killed and six others injured in an Israeli strike on a cafe in the Shejaiya neighborhood in eastern Gaza City.
A Palestinian boy also lost his life while several people were injured in a drone strike in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood in Gaza City, the source added.
The official Palestinian news agency Wafa, citing medical sources, said that 15 people were killed and 10 others injured in an Israeli airstrike on a residential apartment in the Al-Karama area in northwestern Gaza City.
Four others were killed and five injured in another Israeli airstrike on a home in the Salateen neighborhood of Beit Lahia town in the northern Gaza Strip, Wafa added.
Another strike killed two more Palestinians in the same town, medics said.
Two people were killed in an Israeli strike on the Qizan Abu Rashwan area in the southern city of Khan Younis, a medical source told Anadolu.
One more victim was killed in an Israeli drone strike on a group of civilians in the eastern area of Jabalia in northern Gaza.
The goal of Israel’s renewed onslaught is the “complete occupation of the Gaza Strip,” Israeli Culture Minister Miki Zohar said on Monday.
“Such a move endangers those who remain in captivity,” Zohar, a member of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud Party, told the public broadcaster KAN. “But there is no choice left.”
The Israeli minister claimed that the ongoing military assault will force the Palestinian group Hamas to release Israeli captives and go into exile outside Gaza.
Netanyahu’s office said early Monday that Israel’s Security Cabinet unanimously approved a plan to expand its ongoing military onslaught on Gaza and occupy territories inside the enclave.
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, for his part, said the Israeli army will not withdraw from Gaza.
“We are finally going to occupy the Gaza Strip. We will stop being afraid of the word ‘occupation,’” Smotrich told Israeli Channel 13.
“We are finally taking control of all humanitarian aid, so that it does not become supplies for Hamas,” he claimed.
The minister said that Gaza’s population will be displaced to the south of the enclave in the area between Rafah and Khan Younis, where he claimed that humanitarian aid will be distributed under Israeli security watch.
YEMEN
US warplanes launched 11 fresh airstrikes in Al-Jawf province in northern Yemen on Monday as regional tension continues to escalate over the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, the Houthi [Ansar Allah] group said.
The Houthi-run Al-Masirah TV said eight airstrikes targeted Al-Hazm district in the province, while three others hit the Khab wa Ash Sha’af area.
No information was yet available about casualties or damage from the attacks.
The attacks came one day after a Houthi missile landed at Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport on Sunday, disrupting flight schedules and prompting several international carriers to cancel their Sunday flights to Tel Aviv. Israel has vowed to respond to the Houthi attack.
Iran Monday rejected any link to a Houthi missile strike that hit the grounds of Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport a day earlier.
A Foreign Ministry statement called accusations linking Tehran to the Houthi attack “an affront to that proud and oppressed nation.”
It said these claims “constitute a deliberate misrepresentation aimed at deflecting attention” from Israeli atrocities in the Palestinian lands, “concealing strategic failures, and manufacturing pretexts for further destabilization of the West Asian region.”
“It must be underscored that it is the US military that, in support of the Zionist regime (Israel)’s genocidal campaign, has entered into direct conflict with the people of Yemen and is committing war crimes by targeting civilian infrastructure and non-military objectives across various Yemeni cities,” it said.
