Gaza: 86 Palestinians killed, 131 wounded by Israeli bombardments last 24 hours
Gaza City, (Al Jazeera, Wafa): Israeli bombardments in Gaza killed 86 Palestinians, injured 131 in the last 24 hours. Since 7 October, at least 29,692 Palestinians were killed, including 12,300 children and 69,879 wounded, including 8,663 children by indiscriminate bombing by Israeli Defence Forces in Gaza Strip. 8,500 Palestinians are missing.
A two-month-old Palestinian baby has died from starvation in northern Gaza, according to media reports, as Israel is accused of using starvation as a weapon of war.
Three Palestinians were killed by Israeli shelling in the Sabra neighbourhood of Gaza City.
Palestinians are also reported to have been killed in Khan Younis and Beit Lahiya in the latest round of Israeli attacks.
Photos and testimonies have documented the Israeli army’s targeting of two Palestinian sisters while they were searching for food inside agricultural land in Beit Lahiya in the northern Gaza Strip.
The attack killed Hadeel Aghlais, whose body was transported on a towed cart. Her sister, Iman Aghlais, survived.
A child described that Hadeel was shot twice, in the heart and jaw, and noted that hunger forced the sisters to go to a dangerous area in order to get food.
“Even the donkey was injured, we are not guilty of all this, we want a solution,” the child, who witnessed the shooting, said.
n Beit Lahiya, a home was targeted while evacuees were inside. Four people were reportedly killed, while others were injured.
There are a few who are still trapped under the rubble and civil defence crew are struggling to rescue them. Without proper equipment, the rescuers must use their bare hands to remove large pieces of concrete and to lift people from under the wreckage. There is hope that they will get to the wounded there before it is too late.
Still, there is a risk of them losing their lives without immediate medical intervention and health facilities in the north are totally nonoperational right now.
The Wafa news agency reports that dozens of Palestinians, including many women and children, have been killed in the latest round of Israeli attacks.
The latest killings were reported from: Western part of Khan Younis, Sabra neighbourhood of Gaza City, Shaaf area east of Gaza City, Beit Lahiya, northern Gaza.
Explosions have also been heard in the Zeitoun neighbourhood near Gaza City.
On Saturday, a separate attack on Gaza City’s Shati refugee camp killed at least two Palestinians and wounded several others.
Israeli air raid has killed at least seven people, including a child, in Rafah, the Wafa news agency reports.
Palestinian legal organisation Al-Haq condemns the killing of human rights lawyer Dana Yaghy, with 40 members of her family in Deir el-Balah, and says “Israel’s genocide in Gaza is ongoing”.
At least 15 Palestinians were killed, and dozens were injured, including children and women, in an Israeli airstrike that targeted a house in Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City.
WAFA correspondent said that the occupation warplanes bombed a three-story house belonging to Al-Zard family, in Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, killing at least 15 citizens and wounding dozens.
He added that the warplanes fired at least one missile towards the house and flattened it without warning, where all the family members were sheltering, resulting in a large number of killed and wounded civilians.
WAFA correspondent pointed out that ambulances were unable to reach all the killed and wounded people due to the Israeli artillery shelling of that area, in addition to the shooting by the Israeli drones towards every citizen moving in the area.
He explained that the occupation warplanes also bombed several homes in the neighborhood, which led to the killing and injury of a number of Palestinians, adding that it was not possible for ambulances to reach them, or even to be transported by the Palestinians.
Dozens of Palestinian civilians were Sunday killed and others were injured in the ongoing Israeli bombing on various areas of the Gaza Strip, mainly on the neighborhoods of Gaza City.
Local sources said that occupation artillery targeted the northern areas of the Gaza Strip, injuring dozens of citizens as a result of the occupation forces targeting residents of Al-Mustasfa Street in Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, south of Gaza City.
A huge explosion occured in Juhr al-Dik area, south of Gaza City.
More than 10 Palestinians were killed, and more than 50 were injured, as a result of the Israeli forces bombing Palestinians’ homes in the neighborhoods of Gaza City, especially Al-Zaytoun and Al-Sabra.
The Israeli artillery bombed Palestinians who were trying to reach crops north of Beit Lahia, in the northern Gaza Strip, killing two Palestinains.
Civil Defense crews retrieved the bodies of eight Palestinians from Al-Satar area, east of the city of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip.
Local sources said that the Israeli artillery launched intense bombardment on the eastern areas of Khan Yunis Governorate. A Palestinian was killed in a bombing that targeted citizens in the town of Al-Qarara, north of Khan Yunis.
Medical sources indicated that the Israeli forces withdrew from the Nasser Medical Complex, but were still stationed in its vicinity and imposing a strict siege on it.
They added that the staff and patients of the Nasser Medical Complex are without water, without food, without electricity, without oxygen, and without therapeutic components, noting that the medical teams were able to bury 13 dead Palestinians inside the complex, who were patients who died as a result of the cessation of generators and oxygen.
