Gaza City, (AA, Al Jazeera, Wafa): “At least 39 people were killed and 64 others injured in four Israeli ‘massacres’ against families in Gaza in the last 24 hours,” the Health Ministry said.  This has increased the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli Defence Forces’ indiscriminate bombings to at least 35,272 and 79,205 others injured in the Gaza Strip since last Oct. 7, the Health Ministry in the enclave said on Thursday.

Several civilians were killed and many others were injured late Wednesday night by Israeli strikes and its army gunfire in the Gaza Strip.

Local sources said that a number of civilians were killed and many others were wounded in the Israeli shelling of the Al-Halqawi family house located near Rabaa School in the city of Rafah in the south of the Gaza Strip.

The sources added that a civilian was also shot dead by the Israeli forces’ gunfire in the Deir al-Balah city in the central Strip.

At least 11 Palestinians were killed and dozens injured in fresh Israeli attacks in the battered Gaza Strip on Thursday, according to medical sources.

Israeli fighter jets struck a house in the southern city of Rafah, leaving four people dead and several injured, a medical source told Anadolu Agency.

Civil defense team are searching the rubble of the destroyed building for survivors, witnesses said.

Three Palestinians, including a child, were killed when a warplane hit a house in Gaza City, witnesses said. Several others were injured in the attack.

Three more Palestinians lost their lives in another attack on a residential building in eastern Gaza, medical sources said.

Several Palestinians were also reported dead in Israeli bombing of a house in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood in Gaza City, the sources added.

Another Palestinian was shot dead by Israeli army fire near Netzarim Corridor in the central Gaza Strip, witnesses said.

At least four civilians, including a pregnant woman, thursday were killed and others were injured, in a raid launched by Israeli warplanes that targeted a house in al-Faluga area in Jabalia refugee camp, northern Gaza Strip.

Local sources said that the occupation forces further bombed the Al-Faluga cemetery in Jabalia camp.

In Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, the Israeli forces targeted a house in the Al-Husaynat area, east of Rafah. The Israeli forces also targeted Palestinian homes in the Al-Nasr and Brazil neighborhoods in Rafah.

The Government Media Office says that 147 journalists have been killed since the start of Israel’s war on Gaza.

It named the following journalists who have been recently killed in Israeli attacks:

Hael Al-Najjar, an editor at Al-Aqsa Media Network.
Mahmoud Jahjouh, a photojournalist for the Palestine Post website.
Moataz Mustafa Al-Ghafrit, a photojournalist for the Ard Canaan website and the Palestinian Media Corporation.
Amna Mahmoud Hamid, a presenter and newspaper editor for a number of media outlets.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres termed on Thursday Israel’s ongoing war on the Gaza Strip as an “open wound that threatens to infect the entire region.”

“Any assault on Rafah is unacceptable. It would inflict another surge of pain and misery when we need a surge in life-saving aid,” Guterres said in a speech at the opening session of an annual Arab summit in Bahrain.

“It is time for an immediate humanitarian cease-fire and unimpeded access for humanitarian assistance throughout Gaza,” he added.

Guterres described the Gaza war as “the deadliest in my time as secretary-general, for civilians, aid workers, journalists, and our own UN colleagues.”

“Nothing can justify the collective punishment of the Palestinian people,” he said. “The toll on civilians continues to escalate.”

In the meanwhile, three Palestinians were killed during Israeli army’s overnight raid in the city of Tulkarem, northern occupied West Bank, Wafa news agency reported.

The three Palestinians were identified as Ayman Mubarak, 26, Husam Da’bas, 22, and Mohammed Nasrallah, 27.

The army stormed the city from its western entrance, deployed its forces on roads, and snipers on many of the city’s buildings, and also opened random fire.

Israeli forces also blew up the gate of a money exchange, and vandalized and looted it.

Tensions have been running high across the West Bank since Israel launched a military offensive against the Gaza Strip after a cross-border attack by Hamas on Oct. 7, 2023.

Over 500 Palestinians have since been killed and around 4,900 others injured by Israeli army fire in the occupied territory, according to the Health Ministry.

According to the Israeli government, 1,139 Israelis were killed by Hamas on October 7 in southern Israel, and 134 Israelis and foreign nationals are still detained by Hamas in Gaza.
