Gaza: 112 Palestinians killed, 173 injured by Israeli bombardments last 24 hours

London (The Muslim News): According to Gaza Ministry of Health, at least 112 Palestinians have been killed and 173 others injured by Israeli indiscriminate bombings across the Gaza Strip over the last 24 hours, taking Palestinians killed to at least 28,176, 67,784 Palestinians have been wounded. More than 8,000 people are reported missing. Last figures received for children killed, is 11,500  and women killed is 8,000.

The United Nations, the European Union, the United States and Arab nations are warning Israel not to go ahead with the planned offensive on Rafah, saying it would cause a humanitarian catastrophe.

UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell has said that the civilians in Rafah must be protected as they have nowhere to go.

“Rafah is one of the most densely populated places on earth, teeming with children and families, some already displaced many times by war in Gaza,” she said in a post on X.

“Some 1.3M civilians are pushed into a corner, living on streets or shelters. They must be protected. They have nowhere safe to go,” Russell added.

Israeli forces have extended steadily southwards in Gaza, making Rafah the last key city that troops have yet to enter.

According to Wafa newsd agency, a number of Palestinian citizens were killed and dozens were injured after the Israeli air force bombred areas in Rafah and Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip on the 128th day of the ongoing aggression.

Medical sources said that a woman was killed and a number of others were wounded after the Israelis targeted a house north of the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.

The sources added that there were two killed people and one wounded person in critical condition inside the departments and courtyards of Nasser Hospital as a result of the continuous shooting at the hospital.

Since the morning, 10 civilians have been killed at the Nasser Medical Complex and the European Gaza Hospital as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Khan Yunis Governorate in the southern Gaza Strip.

The Israeli occupation army also blew up a residential square west of Khan Yunis in the south of the Gaza Strip, and forced a large number of displaced people inside the shelter schools in the vicinity of the Nasser Medical Complex to evacuate towards the Al-Mawasi area.

Israeli warplanes destroyed a number of houses of more than three floors between the northern Khan Yunis camp and the project area in Khan Yunis.

The death toll in southern Israel from the October 7 Hamas attacks stands at 1,139. According to Israeli authorities, 135 Israelis and foreign nationals are still held captive by Hamas in Gaza
