Intense Israeli bombardment and ground operations as well as heavy fighting between Israeli forces and Palestinian armed groups continue to be reported across much of the Gaza Strip, particularly in Al Rimal area near Al Shifa Hospital in Gaza city, central Khan Younis, and the vicinity of Al Amal and Nasser hospitals. This has resulted in further civilian casualties, displacement, and destruction of houses and other civilian infrastructure.

UN Palestine rapporteur report says “reasonable grounds” to believe threshold met for genocidal acts by Israel in Gaza war.

The UN Security Council for the first time passes a resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. Fourteen countries voted in favour of the resolution; the US, Israel’s main ally, abstained.

Israeli air strikes killed at least 22 Palestinians in central Gaza’s Deir el-Balah region and 30 in Rafah in the south.

Israeli artillery stationed east of the Shuja’iya neighborhood in Gaza City today fired a barrage of airstrikes towards a group of civilians waiting for humanitarian aid, reports Wafa news agency.

Medical sources reported that Israeli fighter jets intensively fired several missiles towards Palestinian civilians who had gathered in the Shuja’iya neighborhood in Gaza City to obtain humanitarian aid after a number of parachutes carrying aid packages fell.

Israeli forces deliberately targets civilians searching for relief aid with the aim of killing them, added sources.

Several Palestinian civilians lost their lives and dozens of others were wounded due to the Israeli targeting of innocent civilians who waiting for aid at the Kuwait Roundabout, south of Gaza City.

Today is the 171st day of Israel’s war on Gaza and it also marks 171 members of UN staff killed in the enclave.

“Most recently was Hani, killed in northern Gaza while looking for food,” said Philippe Lazzarini, the head of the UN’s agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA), in a post on X.

“I hope that the UN Security Council call for an immediate & durable ceasefire will bring to Gaza & the region the peace its people so well deserve.”

Far more UN staff members have been killed in Israel’s war on Gaza than in any previous conflict.

At least seven civilians today were killed and others were wounded in a barrage of Israeli airstrikes targeting different areas in the central and southern Gaza Strip.

Medical sources reported that six civilians were killed in an Israeli shelling targeting a group of civilians in the town of Al-Mughraqa in the central Gaza Strip.

Meantime, an Israeli shelling that targeted the Al-Nasr neighborhood, northeast of Rafah, resulted in the killing of a civilian.

In Khan Yunis, multiple of wounded individuals were rushed to the European Hospital, in the south of the city, following intense Israeli bombardment on Abasan area.

In the south of Gaza City, civil defense crews managed to recover the bodies six people who were killed in an Israeli shelling that targeted the town of Hamad, in the north of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip

Dozens of Palestinian citizens, including children and women, were killed and injured in a series of Israeli raids and artillery shelling in the vicinity of Al-Shifa Hospital and various areas in the Gaza Strip, especially in Deir Al-Balah, at the Kuwait Roundabout, and in the city of Rafah and the eastern areas of Khan Yunis on Monday at dawn.

Health sources in the Gaza Strip said that a number of citizens were killed and injured in an Israeli artillery and airstrike in the vicinity of Al-Shifa Hospital, west of Gaza, amid heavy fire from Israeli vehicles and tanks.

According to local sources, the occupation forces demanded via loudspeakers the immediate evacuation of Al-Shifa Medical Complex in the Al-Rimal neighborhood, west of Gaza City, which they have besieged for the eighth day in a row.

More than 27 Palestinians, including women and children, were killed in Israeli raids that targeted 5 homes in the city of Rafah since yesterday mornig.

The number of victims of the Israeli bombing of Deir al-Balah also rose to 10, and a large number of people are still under the rubble .

The UN special rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese, writes in her report to the UN Security Council – which was released at the same time as the Gaza resolution vote – that “Israel’s genocide on the Palestinians in Gaza is an escalatory stage of a long-standing settler colonial process of erasure”.

“For over seven decades this process has suffocated the Palestinian people as a group – demographically, culturally, economically and politically – seeking to displace it and expropriate and control its land and resources. The ongoing Nakba must be stopped and remedied once and for all.”

The UN report finds that “there are reasonable grounds to believe” that the threshold for several genocidal acts against Palestinians is met: killing members of the group, causing serious bodily or mental harm and deliberately inflicting conditions of life calculated to bring about physical destruction.

“Israel has de facto treated an entire protected group and its life-sustaining infrastructure as ‘terrorist’ or ‘terrorist-supporting’, thus transforming everything and everyone into either a target or collateral damage, hence killable or destroyable,” says the report.

According to Israeli government 1,139 Israelis were killed by Hamas on 7 October in southern Israel and 134 Israelis and foreign nationals are still detained by Hamas in Gaza.
