Palestine: Palestinian killed by Israeli forces in Halhoul, West Bank

RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) :A Palestinian man was shot dead by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank on Tuesday, local media reported.
A young man was shot dead by Israeli forces at the entrance of Nabi Yunis area in in Halhoul town, north of Hebron, West Bank, Palestine TV reported .
Palestinian activists and local media circulated a video showing a young man lying on the ground while Israeli soldiers surrounded him.
“The Israeli forces prevented the medics from reaching the young man,” an eyewitness told Anadolu.
The Palestinian Health Ministry said the Palestinian has been identified as Hamdi Shaker Abdullah Abu Dayya, 40, a former political prisoner and a married father of three children from Halhoul.
According to Israeli Army Radio, the Palestinian was shot after he tried to attack Israeli forces near the town of Halhul.
No injuries were reported among Israeli forces.
A Palestinian was killed Sunday after he was shot by Israeli forces near the village of Silwad, east of the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, according to the Ministry of Health reports Wafa news agency. Earlier on Saturday. three Palestinians lost their lives to Israeli army fire in the occupied West Bank. A fourth Palestinians dies Saturday due to wounds sustained by Israeli army attacks.
Meanwhile, Israeli police prevented Jordan’s ambassador from entering Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque on Tuesday, the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported.
Officers held up Ghassan Majali and Sheikh Azzam Al-Khatib, the director-general of the Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem, at the Lion’s Gate entrance and asked them to present permission to enter the site.
Jordan has been the official custodian of Muslim and Christian holy places in Jerusalem since 1924 and was publicly acclaimed as the custodian of Jerusalem’s holy sites.
Abu Dayyeh is the 15th Palestinian to be shot and killed by Israeli soldiers since the start of the year, including four minors.
