Palestine: Israeli army kills 2 Palestinians in Nablus

RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA): Two Palestinians were shot dead in an Israeli military operation in Nablus, occupied West Bank.
Two “citizens were killed by the occupation bullets in Nablus,” the Palestinian Health Ministry said in a statement.
The Palestinian Red Crescent said that the army Israeli army also targeted the Nablus Specialized Hospital with “gas bombs.”
The Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed the death of the two seriously wounded young men in Rafidia Governmental Hospital and Nablus Specialty Hospital.
The two were rushed to the two medical centers before doctors and surgeons tried to save their lives, but they succumbed to their serious gunshot wounds, the Health Ministry added.
The two Palestinians were later identified as Mohammad Omar Juneidi (Abu Bakr) and Mohammad Nasser Hallaq.
Ahmad Jibril, the head of the Nablus office Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS), said the soldiers shot and seriously injured two young men, including one who was shot in the head, before the medic rushed them to Rafidia governmental hospital, and Nablus Specialty Hospital.
The soldiers also surrounded Nablus Specialty Hospital and fired many gas bombs at it, and tried to prevent ambulances from entering or leaving it.
Voice of Palestine Radio reported that the Israeli forces raided a residential apartment on the outskirts of the Old City in Nablus. It said the troops withdrew from the city after arresting two young men.
Meanwhile, Lions’ Den, a Palestinian group, said in a statement that its members clashed with Israeli forces “with bullets and improvised explosives.”
Witnesses told Anadolu that Israeli forces stormed the al-Makhfiyya neighborhood in Nablus, and armed clashes broke out with Palestinian youths, in which the army used “live and rubber bullets, and gas bombs.”
According to imemc.org during the invasion, an Israeli military dog mauled a Palestinian man, causing various wounds, while at least 55 Palestinians suffered the severe effects of teargas inhalation.
Palestinian medics also had to evacuate five families from their homes after the soldiers targeted the properties with gas bombs, while one Red Crescent ambulance sustained damage after a gas bomb struck it.
The Israeli army said its soldiers arrested two Palestinians believed to have provided assistance to the Palestinian who shot and injured three Israeli soldiers in Huwwara, south of Nablus, last month, and claimed the soldiers also confiscated a car and two pistols.
With Monday’s fatalities, the death toll of Palestinians killed by the Israeli army rises to 94, including 17 children and a woman, and a young man from Houra in the Negev, according to the official Palestinian news agency Wafa.
