Palestine: Dozens Palestinians injured by Israeli soldiers and settlers

Palestine (Imemc and AA)  Two Palestinians were injured by Israeli fire in the occupied West Bank on Saturday and dozens injured on Friday, according to a local official and medics.

A Palestinian shepherd was wounded when a guard of an Israeli settlement opened fire near the town of Madama, south of Nablus, Ghassan Daghlas, who is in charge of monitoring Israeli settlement activity in the northern West Bank, told the state news agency Wafa.

A 16-year-old boy was also injured by Israeli army fire near a military checkpoint south-west of Jenin, said Mahmoud al-Saadi, a Palestinian medic.

There was no comment from the Israeli army on the report.

On Friday, Israeli soldiers injured dozens of Palestinians during processions against the illegal Annexation Wall and settlements in several parts of the occupied West Bank.

In Hebron, in the southern part of the West Bank, the soldiers injured many Palestinians during a procession in Beit Ummar town, north of the city.

In Kufur Qaddoum town, east of the northern West Bank city of Qalqilia, the soldiers shot three Palestinians with rubber-coated steel bullets during the weekly procession and caused many to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation.

The Palestinians hold weekly processions every Friday and Saturday in Kufur Qaddoum, demanding the army to reopen the town’s main entrance, blockaded 19 years ago to allow easy access to illegal settlers driving to and from Kedumim colony, built on stolen Palestinians.

In Nablus, in the northern West Bank, the soldiers caused several injuries, especially due to the effects of tear gas inhalation, during processions against the illegal colonialist activities in Beita and Qaryout, south of the city, and in Beit Dajan village, east of the city.

In Qaryout, the soldiers fired many gas bombs and concussion grenades at Palestinians, protesting an invasion by the paramilitary settlers into the area of the local water spring.

Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian official who monitors Israel’s illegal settler activities in the northern West Bank, said the soldiers injured twelve Palestinians in the eastern area of Beit Dajan when the soldiers attacked the weekly procession in Sbeih Mountain.

The Palestinians have been holding ongoing processions on their lands in Sbeih Mountain in Beita and Beit Dajan after a group of illegal Israeli settlers installed an outpost atop the Mountain.

During these protests, the soldiers injured thousands of Palestinians and killed several others, including children.

The Mountain, owned by the Palestinians, has significant strategic importance, especially since the settlers occupied it, the settler would lead to the annexation of 20 Dunams of Palestinian lands and would also lead to the isolation of a large area of Palestinian lands.

Also Friday, dozens of Israeli soldiers and paramilitary settlers assaulted many Palestinians near the Al-Aqsa Mosque in the occupied capital, Jerusalem, injured several Palestinians and caused damage to cars.

Tensions have been running high across the occupied West Bank in recent months amid repeated Israeli raids into Palestinian towns.

According to the Health Ministry, at least 151 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces since the start of the year. Twenty-one Israelis have also been killed in separate attacks during the same period.
