“OpenAI is really excited about building A.G.I., and they are recklessly racing to be the first there,” The New York Times cited OpenAI’s former researcher Daniel Kokotajlo as saying in a letter drawing attention to Open AI operations.
Other members include Carroll Wainwright, Jacob Hilton and Daniel Ziegler, William Saunders who had previously worked at Open AI. Mr Kokotajlo disclosed the letter had received approval from several other AI employees who chose to remain anonymous for fear of recrimination.
Responding to the safety worries,
OpenAI spokesperson, Lindsey Held, in a statement said the company was proud of its “track record providing the most capable and safest A.I. systems and believe in our scientific approach to addressing risk.”
She added, “We agree that rigorous debate is crucial given the significance of this technology, and we’ll continue to engage with governments, civil society and other communities around the world.”
