Gaza City, (OCHA, AL Jazeera, AA, Wafa): According to the Ministry of Health (MoH) in Gaza, 99 Palestinians were killed and 168 others injured by Israeli indiscriminate bombings in Gaza Strip in the last 48 hours. These figures have increased the number of Palestinians killed since 7 October 2023 by Israeli Defence Forces to 34,943 and 78,572 others injured in Gaza Strip, according to MoH in Gaza.

More than eight civilians were killed and many others injured this evening in an Israeli shelling of a house in the center of the Gaza Strip.

WAFA correspondent reported that Israeli warplanes launched multiple air raids on the family home of Abu al-Nimr in the new camp of the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Strip, resulting in the killing of over eight people and the injury of others.

The Israeli artillery also shelled the Health Ministry’s Al-Zaytoun Martyrs Medical Center in the southeastern al-Zaytoun neighborhood of Gaza City, which led to a huge fire at the Centre’s departments.

The Israeli artillery fired several missiles targeting the vicinity of the Asqoula area in the al-Zaytoun neighborhood and the eastern parts of the city of Rafah.

Israeli shelling also targeted different areas in the Central Gaza Governorate.

A number of casualties were reported last night as Israeli occupation forces bombarded inhabited homes in Gaza City and the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip, according to local and medical sources.

The sources confirmed that Ahmad Ghuneim, a former Palestinian prisoner in Israeli jails, along with three members of his family, including children, were among those killed in an Israeli airstrike which targeted a home in Jabalia refugee camp.

Additional casualties were reported as Israeli airstrikes hit a residential building in Gaza City, causing both fatalities and injuries.

Furthermore, there were reports of injuries resulting from Israeli shelling targeting a warehouse, shops, and agricultural land near the Al-Dawa Street junction in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.

Meantime, Israeli helicopters and military vehicles opened fire in the central and eastern areas of Rafah concurrently with artillery shelling.

According to a statement from the Al-Awda Hospital in the enclave, eight fatalities were reported and an unspecified number of injuries arrived at the hospital following the Israeli airstrike on a house north of the Nuseirat Refugee Camp.

Meanwhile, witnesses told Anadolu Agency that the Israeli airstrike completely destroyed the house and caused mass damage to neighboring homes.

The witnesses further explained that medical and civil defense teams are still searching for missing people under the rubble.

Meanwhile, UN details how Israel has thwarted aid deliveries in the lead-up to a ground offensive in Rafah.

From May 1 to Thursday, nine out of 32 humanitarian missions (28 percent) to northern Gaza were facilitated with five (16 percent) denied, 11 (34 percent) impeded and seven (22 percent) cancelled because of logistical constraints, OCHA said.

“Moreover, 25 out of 46 aid missions (54 percent) to areas in southern Gaza that require coordination were facilitated by the Israeli authorities, 9 (20 percent) were denied, 3 (6 percent) were impeded, and 9 (20 percent) were cancelled due to logistical constraints,” it said.

Israel has cut off all aid, along with preventing patients from leaving Gaza, since the start of its offensive in Rafah.

According to the Israeli government, 1,139 Israelis were killed by Hamas on October 7 in southern Israel, and 134 Israelis and foreign nationals are still detained by Hamas in Gaza.
