Israeli attacks on Rafah city and central areas in Gaza cause further civilian casualties as medical facilities remain exhausted.

There has been a wide scale of destruction in the past few hours because of unrelenting bombardment carried out by the Israeli military.

In the Nuseirat refugee camp, at least 13 Palestinians were killed after a home was destroyed with civil defence crews now working to recover all the victims from under the rubble. The death toll and number of wounded is expected to rise.

Nuseirat, in Deir el-Balah, has previously been attacked by Israeli artillery stationed on the outskirts of the city.

In Gaza’s south in Khan Younis, the bombardment continues and Israeli forces have targeted a number of residential towers in the Hamad neighbourhood.

Initial reports say two Palestinians have been killed in an attack on another refugee camp and seven others injured.

A huge, terrifying attack has hit al-Mashala neighbourhood in the city of Deir el-Balah, central Gaza.

At least six ambulances have rushed to the scene and we are hearing reports of many casualties and wounded.

Five Palestinians were killed in an Israeli airstrike which targeted two houses this evening in the city of Deir al-Balah, in the central Gaza Strip, according to local sources.

At least three Palestinians were killed and others sustained injuries this evening following an aerial Israeli bombardment targeting a house in the town of Al-

Qarara, located east of Khan Yunis in the south of the Gaza Strip, according to medical sources.

The sources confirmed the killing of three Palestinians and the injury of several others after an Israeli airstrike targeted a residence in the town, located in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

Meantime, the Israeli occupation military destroyed multiple residential buildings in the Hamad City, northwest of Khan Yunis

In central Gaza, reports said that a number of civilians, predominantly children, were wounded in Israeli airstrikes in the Al-Qaran area west of the city of Deir al-Balah.

Dozens of civilians, the majority of whom are children and women, were killed and others injured in a series of Israeli airstrikes that targeted multiple areas across the Gaza Strip.

Medical sources said that at least six civilians were in Israeli artillery shelling of several homes in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City.

Three children were also killed inside Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City due to malnutrition and starvation, which raises Palestinian death toll from hunger in Gaza since the start of the aggression to 23.

In Jabalia, north of the Gaza Strip, nine Palestinians, mostly children, were killed in artillery shelling that targeted citizens’ homes.

Furthermore, five civilians were killed in an artillery shelling that targeted the city of Deir al-Balah and the outskirts of the Nuseirat camp, in the central Gaza Strip, and they were transferred to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.

In Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, from last night until dawn today, 23 people, including children and women, were killed in intense airstrikes that targeted a number of citizens’ homes.

Israeli forces have bombarded a neighbourhood in Khan Younis close to the border with Israel, hitting al-Riad mosque, which was heavily damaged by the attack, according to the footage obtained by Al Jazeera.

Rescue teams have yet to determine if there were any casualties.

Search and rescue operation is under way after the destruction of an entire residential block belonging to the al-Nuwairi family in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.

A surviving resident told Al Jazeera that there were “children and girls” in the house.

“There is no safety zone, they told us here is the safety of Ajina here,” the survivor said.

A member of the civil defence told Al Jazeera that “among those targeted is a month-old baby girl and efforts to search for her are still ongoing”.

The deaths of an infant girl and a young woman in Gaza have increased the number of known starvation deaths to 25.

The health ministry said a two-month-old died of malnutrition and dehydration at the Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza.

Starvation and dehydration also killed the young woman at al-Shifa Hospital, where three more young people died of the same cause on Friday.

“The increase in deaths from malnutrition and dehydration is extremely worrying and confirms that famine in northern Gaza has reached deadly levels,” the ministry said.

The death toll only reflects cases brought to hospitals, and many more are believed to have died of starvation.

As Israel continues to block aid deliveries, an estimated 300,000 people in besieged northern Gaza face famine.

The Israeli military confirmed Major Amishar Ben David has been killed during fighting in southern Gaza.

It identified the 43-year-old as the head of the Commando Brigade’s forward command team. He was from the illegal settlement of Eli in the Israeli-occupied West Bank.

Ben David is the 248th soldier killed since Israel’s ground invasion of the besieged enclave was launched in October.

According to Israeli government 1,139 Israelis were killed by Hamas on 7 October in southern Israel and 134 Israelis and foreign nationals are still detained by Hamas in Gaza.
