Gaza: 46 Palestinians killed, 110 injured by Israeli attacks last 24hrs
46 Palestinians were killed and 110 others wounded by indiscriminate Israeli Defence Forces in Gaza Strip in the last 24 hours, according to Health Ministry. This brings to total number of Palestinians killed by Israeli bombings in Gaza Strip since 7 October to 33,843, including 14,520 children and 9,560 women and 76,575, including 12,000 children wounded, the Health Ministry in the besieged enclave said on Tuesday.
Israeli forces killed 11 Palestinians and several wounded, majority children in the al-Maghazi refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip this evening, according to Wafa news agency.
Simultaneously, the Israeli forces continued their intense shelling on northern Gaza, destroying a four-story house belonging to the Hassouna family on Al-Nafaq Street north of Gaza City, causing damage to surrounding homes.
The Israeli forces also continued to fire live ammunition at the homes of Palestinians in the town of Beit Hanoun, northern Gaza, alongside sporadic artillery shelling.
In the meantime, Israeli warplanes and artillery targeted several homes in the Nusseirat refugee camp and its outskirts in the central Gaza Strip. They also destroyed the top three floors of the Fayyad Tower in the northern areas of the camp, resulting in casualties.
In a related development, Israeli warplanes launched a fierce airstrike on Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, ambulance and rescue teams managed to recover the bodies of six Palestinians from the Al-Amal neighborhood west of the city.
Earlier, at least eight Palestinians were killed and many others injured in an Israeli airstrike targeting vehicles in the Tuffah neighborhood in central Gaza City.
Additionally, three Palestinians were killed and dozens injured in Israeli airstrikes north of the Nusseirat refugee camp. Israeli forces also demolished a number of residential homes north of the camp with explosives.
In northern Gaza, Israeli occupation forces continued for the second consecutive day to force all families present in the town of Beit Hanoun to evacuate, and several youths were arrested.
WAFA correspondent said that a number of people were killed and dozens others were wounded when the occupation warplanes bombed Al-Fakhoura Martyrs Mosque, west of the Jabalia refugee camp, in the northern Gaza Strip, amid massive destruction in neighboring homes.
In the center of the Gaza Strip, intense Israeli artillery and missile shelling continues on Nuseirat camp for the sixth day in a row, resulting in at least five casualties and significant property damage.
The Israeli air force bombed a number of homes in Al-Mughraqa and the neighboring city of Al-Zahraa.
The Israeli artillery also fired a number of shells in the western area of Deir al-Balah.
In Beit Hanoun, in the north, the occupation forces detained dozens of young men, after abusing them, according to the testimonies of their families, and forced the women and children to leave two shelter schools and leave the town, while artillery shells were fired at them.
In Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, Israeli artillery bombed several neighborhoods, especially in the eastern regions of Abasan, Bani Suhaila, and Khuza’a, amid massive destruction of property and completely destroyed infrastructure.
Gaza’s government media office accused the Israeli army on Tuesday of forcibly evacuating Palestinians from Beit Hanoun and Jabalia towns in the northern Gaza Strip amid a deadly offensive on the blockaded enclave.
”The Israeli army carried out a military operation in Beit Hanoun and the eastern part of Jabalia in a new crime aimed to empty the two areas,” Salama Maruf, the head of the media office, said in a statement.
He said the Israeli army laid a siege around Al-Mahdiya Al-Shawwa school in Beit Hanoun, where hundreds of displaced people are accommodated.
“The occupation army established an investigation center behind the school and ordered everyone to leave at gunpoint,” he said.
“Women were forced to remove their hijabs, and men were stripped of their outer clothes,” Maruf said, adding that several young men were detained by Israeli forces.
“This new crime was carried out under the cover of heavy artillery shelling, airstrikes, and intense gunfire,” he said.
There was no comment from the Israeli military on the report.
Fighter jets targeted an area where children had gathered in the Maghazi refugee camp, eyewitnesses said.
“Most of the victims were children who were playing with toys,” an eyewitness told Anadolu Agency.
Children in Gaza have become the faces of the ongoing war as their stories paint a “harrowing picture” of the human consequences of the conflict, a UNICEF official said on Tuesday.
“Children are wearing a tremendous share of the scars of this war,” UNICEF Communication Specialist Tess Ingram, who left Gaza on Monday after spending two weeks there, told a UN press briefing in Geneva.
Citing the latest figures from the Palestinian Ministry of Health, Ingram said that more than 12,000 children – almost 70 children every day – were injured in Gaza since Oct 7.
This is “almost certainly an underestimate,” she stressed, adding that only a small number of all reported injuries are disaggregated to specify when it is a child that has been injured.
On medical evacuations, she said: “With at least 70 children injured every day, we need the number of medical evacuations to increase so children can access the care they urgently need.”
“And with one child killed or injured every ten minutes, above anything else, we need a cease-fire,” she urged, saying cease-fire “is the only way to stop the killing and maiming of children.”
According to Israeli government 1,139 Israelis were killed by Hamas on 7 October in southern Israel and 134 Israelis and foreign nationals are still detained by Hamas in Gaza.
