Five more Palestinian civilians were killed this evening as a result of Israeli airstrikes targeting Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip and the Bureij refugee camp in the central province of the enclave.

Medical sources reported that four individuals were killed when Israeli warplanes targeted the vehicle they were traveling inside in the city of Rafah, in the farthest south of the territory.

In a separate incident, another Palestinian was killed in an Israeli airstrike while attempting to retrieve the body of one of the Palestinians killed of a previous shelling in the Bureij refugee camp, located in the central Gaza Strip.

Simultaneously, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, in coordination with the International Committee of the Red Cross, reported that it had evacuated five critically injured individuals from Al-Shifa Medical Complex to the European Hospital in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza.

The society further stated that its teams also evacuated seven individuals, including four children, from Gaza City to the Rafah border crossing with Egypt. Among them were children awaiting reunification with their mother in Egypt, along with two other children and their mother.

In central Gaza, medical sources reported that four individuals were killed as a result of the Israeli shelling targeting a residential apartment in the Nusseirat refugee camp.

Meantime, three other civilians were killed in an Israeli airstrike which targeted the al-Salatin area west of the town Beit Lahia in northern Gaza.

Meanwhile, Civil Defense teams recovered the bodies of three martyrs following an Israeli shelling that hit everal areas in the Abasan Al-Kabira town, east of Khan Yunis. The bodies were subsequently transported to the European Hospital in the city.

Meanwhile, UN Secretary-General António Guterresof spoke about Israel’s war on Gaza at the 19th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement in Kampala, Uganda Saturday. “The wholesale destruction of Gaza and the number of civilian casualties caused by the Israeli army in such a short period are totally unprecedented during my mandate. This includes 152 of our own UN staff members, a heartbreaking tragedy for our organisation, for their families and for those they were serving in Gaza.

“While humanitarian workers are doing their best to deliver relief, they face constant bombardments, daily dangers to themselves and their families and the enormous constraints by damaged roads, communication blackouts and access denials.

“Meanwhile, disease and anger are deepening, people are dying not only from bombs and bullets but from lack of food and clean water, hospitals without power and medicine and gruelling journeys to even smaller slivers of land to escape the fighting. This must stop.”

According to Israeli authorities, 1,139 Israelis were killed in southern Israel by Hamas on October 7. 136 Israelis are still held captives by Hamas in Gaza.
