Fontana Days Festival will run through June 2

A huge crowd turned out for the first day of the 2024 Fontana Days Festival on May 30.

Angel Gutierrez and his friend were very enthusiastic about attending the annual festival and were among the first people in line at 4 p.m. The gates opened at 5 p.m. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

He said: “I wanted to get here before the line gets long,” which did indeed happen.

The festival, which is coordinated by the Exchange Club of Fontana and the City of Fontana, will run through June 2 at 17255 Merrill Avenue on the corner of Palmetto Avenue.

The festival offers amusement rides, games, food and vendor booths, and a wide variety of entertainment.

The cost to enter the park is $3 per person each day, and children ages 5 and under are free.

Hours on Sunday, June 2 are from noon to 10 p.m.

This year, in an effort to keep all attendees safe, only clear bags, backpacks, purses, and baby bags will be allowed to be brought into the park (there will be no exceptions to this rule).

All proceeds will go back into the community. A big portion will go to scholarships for high school seniors in Fontana.
